Being a Tech-minded individual with fundamental awareness of web-stuff...

SOMETIMES I use a photo as FaceBook cover art, because the photo is artistically engaging or cool-enough that it may compel the viewer to want to save the photo for themselves. (Thus engaging them physically). OR sometimes, I choose a photo that "Hints" at "something" within the picture but OUT of visibility within the FaceBook cover-pane, until the full photo is seen... Thus, also engaing the viewer physically.

I am likely to do a rapid screen-grab on almost ANY visually compelling technical theme. And will naturally tend to assiduously curate the photos if there are many of them.

My eidetic memory is very visual. Not QUITE "photographic"- but GOOD

Correct me if I am wrong, but I could SWEAR I saw that Robotic-Dog Absolut Vodka Ad, on the web in 2010. Perhaps LATE in 2010. But, I simply could be mis-remembering it. I had always found the video to be outstanding. Probably just because I do like a technical theme. See "The Making of ABSOLUT GREYHOUND", below. ...Nevermind about "2010", I'm probably wrong, due to Rum, or Vodka or some damn liquid like that...

It'll be FINE... I am told I HAVE SPARE NEURONS.

But, I just freaking LOVE tech-themes that are well done.

And... OVERLY "Concerned", Activists...

Absolut-Vodka was ...accused... of "Animal Cruelty" - - Really?

While I did my basic studies for this article I stumbled across another website that claimed this vodka-fueled music-video was endorsing and encouraging 'animal cruelty'...

I think that was an entirely silly assessment of the video, considering the dogs are computer-generated robotic versions of the real thing, and not even computer-generated versions that are supposed to be "real". They were mechanical racing avatars, cybernetically operated by humans... obviously.

People can be very jumpy. I myself do love animals. But- to quote this website: "Absolut Greyhound Vodka promotes animal cruelty..."

WHERE... ? - people certainly can be over-sensitive, or overly P.C.- I was quite sure I saw entirely robotic / cybernetic dogs in that video. And, I am quite sure most people instantly recognize the "hounds" are supposed to be robotic. Entirely, robotic... And I am quite sure no real dogs were harmed during the making of the music video. Although, one of the cyber-mutts took a bad tumble when one of his fellow-racers pulled a fast one on him, tripping him.

I am quite certain no animals were hurt. And it looks like people of the future do not wish to race hounds any more. Just EACH OTHER though their Cyber-Hound Avatars... I think anyone who saw this video would know- immediately -these are robo-dogs. So, animal lovers? ...please do not be upset... these are FAKE dogs, in fact, they are FAKE "Robotic-versions-of-dogs". Their real-life robotic versions do not even exist, as far as I know, and even Boston Dynamics "Big Dog" robot program is not nearly as cool looking as THESE hounds. And, I'd think the animal-cruelty-person would be content, that our vision of the future happily excluded real racing dogs, although the synthetic versions were modeled after them.

NO ROBO-DOGS WERE HURT- Despite activists managing to raise an issue of animal cruelty. (Depicted in the photo above)- the accusation never gained ground- Fortunately.

This is why we can't have nice things.

As I mentioned in my very first article on the topic "FaceBook Cover Art", I tend to be aware of unique, or higher quality material for a FaceBook cover picture and theme. I am very quick to use nearly anything that appears on a computer screen as a source for a facebook cover picture.

GreyHound

Absolut-Lee... entertaining, AND A well-produced high tech visual smorgasbord. The context? Racing Hounds. "GreyHound" by Swedish House Mafia, the ad custom-created by them in collaboration with Absolut Vodka.

This style of music is called: "Glitch Hop".

(We used to just call it "Techno" I think. Right? I'm just a country boy. )

I was impressed by almost each visual scene in this video

This video was just visually "FUN".

AND I do happen to love Absolut...

While I was going through the music-video, capturing various frames, and then weeding through various frames... I started making the basic notes to explain common Organizational-Steps in doing a project like this. I now, automatically do many things without requiring tremendous forethought.

When you are saving TONS of related photos, some with only slight differences, an organized numbering / naming theme can be handy. YOU DO LOSE TRACK of specific photos when there is a plethora all jumbled together.

Take for instance, a file-naming convention. Believe it or not, it DOES come in handy to have a "system" for naming/organizing the files in a way that become habitual and helpful to you. I usually utilize a name-plus-number, style of convention. Meaning, "GreyHound010.jpg".

I will start with 3 digits even with the Very First Picture saved.

Why three digits? And I do actually begin with a non-zero number. A "non", 000.jpg file name. Why? Well, because there almost always are EXCEPTIONS in the sequential nature of your work.

IF you are doing work in a manner that is "organized" within your mind for a specific reason, often, you LATER wish you can insert a different photo amongst prior-organized photos. So, a "numbering" system that allows you to "slip-in" a new photo in an older series (without disrupting the series) is a good idea.

Take this video as a real example.

HOW MANY FRAMES do you think I grabbed? (Tons)

While "acquiring" the frames to make this article. There actually was some later-repetition of theme. The close-up of the dogs heads at the starting line, for instance. There was a second and then a third point in this video when we "returned" to the start line, performing differing close-ups. Shots with different focal points.

Hey... if you're a photographer??? Such things are HUGE.

Details can be important- thematically speaking.

I decided to store those pics (GreyHound head-shots, under "GreyHound022.jpg". As follows.

By ordering your files in a manner such as this, you increase the ease with which you may find specific photos. If you are able to group them logically, in some way... in the future, you won't be looking through masses of pictures for ONE specific head-shot, of our robo-dogs.

They will all be in contiguous vicinity to each other.

And related by "topics" of your own choosing / "making sense" to YOU.

I am beginning to gather material, and take notes on what I wish to openly explain to you, in what I do here. It's no mystery at all to someone who is minimally familiar with this technology. But, I will be explicit and analytical and try to give a thorough idea of what is required to make these pics. And to keep them organized "On The Fly".

(from time to time these video's get moved/re-moved) So I have two sources posted (for now). The web-links keep getting changed on me, forcing continual updating (which I do NOT do perfectly- and have NO intention to). ...The shorter video, and the longer as well, CAN be found here. But, the original one I took all pix from was an extended video remix.

...if ye SEEK, ye shall find...

It's odd, but for some reason the extended remix version is, "no longer allowed in the U.S." and is blocked from this country... I wonder why? (I will upload a "modified" version to my own YouTube Channel ("AutomationDnD") - and KEEP the "Frakker", there... for the purposes of this article.
